Barack Hussein Obama II was elected as the 44th president of the United States and was inaugurated on January 20, 2008. He was the first African American president to be elected into office. While re-running for a second term and won against the Republican nominee Mitt Romney. His second term of presidency will end on January 20, 2017 and his successor Donald J. Trump will be sworn into office.

On January 12, 2017 Mr. Obama held his farewell speech to the public at Chicago, the same location he celebrated his victory in the 2012 election. With thousands waiting in lines outdoors in the frigid temperatures as they attempt to procure tickets for the event. Obama’s speech was a very emotional and heartbreaking to both himself and the audience. Alongside many awe inspiring quotes and remarks for the American public. As Obama delves deep into the current situation of America and the impending arrival of Donald Trump’s inauguration. While assuring Americans to look forward to the new future and the new administration. While the speech lasted for over 50 minutes as Obama explains the problems of democracy and how it’s relaying to the American public. After the speech it was noticed by many that Obama’s 15 year old daughter, Sasha was absent and responded on social media with #WheresSasha who had an early exam the following morning. While Barack Obama has left behind a legacy that won’t be forgotten by all Americans.
