James Comey was the 7th director of the FBI from September 2013 to May 2017 when he was dismissed by the newly elected president, Donald Trump. Comey was appointed as director in 2013, under the former president, Barrack Obama. Where he was responsible in the investigation of the crisis regarding Hillary Clinton’s emails. Where the situation came into play in the 2016 presidential election that was publicly scrutinized. With the course of actions have been analyzed many to why Clinton lost the election.

On May 9, 2017 James Comey was terminated from his job as the director of the FBI regarding an investigation into Russian interference within the presidential election. Alongside recommendations by both the deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein and attorney general Jeff Sessions to fire the director. With Comey, now fired many people are questioning and criticizing the actions performed by the Trump administration. Currently replacements for Comey are starting as the search for a new director begins.
